THE LORD BE WITH YOU

Some simply pray. Prayer is a powerful weapon and people praying outside an abortuary is a poweful witness that we cherish God's great gift of life. It also reminds people of the terrible evil of abortion. Some pray the rosary, others the chaplet of Divine Mercy, others some other prayers and others read the scriptures. Some non Catholics just read the scriptures. They pray individually or in groups.

Some approach the people entering and leaving to offer help to the women, often confused and demoralized, who go in there. Occasinally a woman changes her mind when she senses an offer of genuine help. Those are truly inspiring moments and proof that this is God's work.

Some also hand out literature about abortion to other people coming and going or passing by. Sometimes we notice people are surprised at what they learn from us, for example, that abortion is legal throughout pregnancy. This shows us how uninformed or misinformed people are. Right now the polls tell us a majority of people are prolife. Just think how large that majority would be if people really were well informed about this terrible evil. Sidewalk Counselors have the consolation of knowing they are changing American minds and hearts quietly one at a time. And that is also God's work. Please join in it.
